Disposal of acid bath

Post by burke_wl »

What does everyone do when it is time to dispose of your acid bath? We are currently using sodium bisulfate 92%/water bath. I've read suggestions of neutralizing with baking soda and flushing down the drain, as well as absorbing in kitty litter and disposing in the trash. What is the safest/proper way to dispose of this.

Thanks for the input!

As I recall baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) is only 8 on the ph scale vs laundry soda / soda ash (sodium carbonate) which is an 11 . I use the later as a rust preventive on the water table, and test it with litmus paper.
