Muratic acid in cold weather

Post by Chris Linetty »

So I'm watching the calendar and days fly by like they always do. I have my acid bath setup outside, but the cold weather is coming. What do you guys do in the winter? Inside with the fumes and all? What do you guys do?

Thanks,

Chris

If you go inside with muratic acid the fumes will cause any exposed metal to rust. Not sure what the freezing temp is of muratic acid or diluted mix.

How do you rinse your parts in sub freezing temps?

The freezing point of Muratic acid is around -50 degrees. I mix mine 1 to 1 with water and have never had a problem although my winters are mild compared to some (rarely below 10 degrees).
