coating for outdoor furniture

Post by deannasanmiguel »

Does anyone know of any coating that will help benches and chairs be less hot? I know park and playground benches and such sometimes have a coating on them that help with this, I would like to find some to coat in my shop, if possible..

The stuff that is on playgrounds and park benches is usually a poly-urea spray compound, just colored for the application. It's a 2 part compound that gets hot as it reacts when its sprayed and most of it cures fast (30 - 90 secs). Great UV resistance and holds up great here in west Tx. Don't know where you are but around here the guys that spray it specialize in coating tanks and secondary containments in the oil and gas industry. Not sure if there is anything like that where you are located or not but that's where I would start. Might get lucky and trade out some work :-)
