Source I like for flap discs

Post by motoguy »

I was reading another thread, and saw the PS user mention their flap wheel consumables at $8 each. I thought I would share the place I use, and am happy with.

http://www.grindtoolabrasives.com

I learned of them from their post on Pirate4x4.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/tools-su ... -29-a.html

Using the discount code PIRATE (additional 10% discount) at checkout, the flap discs were something like $1.70 each when I last ordered. I have no affiliation with them, other than being a satisfied customer. When I saw the mention of $8 flap discs, I thought this info might help some folks.

Even better pricing than I was getting through benchmark at around $2each when buying 50. Lets hope they hold up the same or better. Thanks for sharing

I just ordered a couple of 7-1/4" steel cutting saw blades for $24. I'll see how they hold up, I've been buying them off ebay for around $45 so if they are any good that is a savings. Will order flap wheels when my stock runs low.

Just an FYI, I ordered two sawblades from this company and they shipped only one, packing slip says 2 and they charged my card for two.
Will not respond to emails or phone calls.

I have been using benchmark flap disc for over a year and highly recommend them. They last much longer than a lot of the big name brands I was using and cost a lot less. The last ones I purchased cost around $1.75 each. I have included a link to their ebay store. Hope this helps some of you.

Dennis, this is very disappointing to hear. I have always had excellent results with them, and they seem to have a very positive reputation on Pirate as well. That is why I went with him to begin with. Has this situation been resolved? I'm hoping it was just some sort of a misunderstanding or miscommunication.

I have sent 3 emails asking for a response or resolution with no answer. When I call I get an answering machine and leave a message and my number with no call back.
Guess I won't be doing business with them anymore and unfortunately I cannot recommend Grind Tool Abrasives , http://www.grindtoolabrasives.com/.

I've brought it up on his Pirate thread. Makes me feel like a boob, trying to be helpful and then something like this happens.

Dennis,

Did you ever get this resolved with the missing blade?

Anyone else running into trouble with orders/stocking now two week later?

No worries!!

Dennis,
Did you ever get this resolved with the missing blade?
Nope, never heard back and can't get anything resolved if you can't contact people. Just chalking it up as a bad experience.
What could have been a good deal turned into one expensive saw blade.
I posted on the supplied link on Pirate also.

Cannot recommend http://www.grindtoolabrasives.com/

So I placed an order and it went smoothly and my order shipped promptly.

I ordered a batch of 120 and 60 grit Type 29 flap discs. I haven't had a chance to do an A/B test of the durability, but I'll update the thread once I have a comparison.
