Cutting an open path

Post by AKmud »

My wife wants to make some small items that require a simple open path cut. I was able to draw and cut it, but she wasn't happy with the diameter of the pierce being larger than the cut line. I've been trying to make a closed path that will end up being only wide enough to match the pierce diameter, but can't seem to get it right. I've played with lead in , but I always end up being able to see about 1/2 the pierce hole. Is there a trick to making this smooth?

Use the search function this has be talked about in the past, pierce delay at the start and turning off the torch before the end of cut. Lines are cut with no lead in or out and no offset.

I dug around a lot in the Inkscape and Sheetcam forums and haven't been able to find a solution. Maybe I'm just not using the correct key words.

Thanks dj, "divot" brought up a lot of information I hadn't been able to find before. I have some things to try now.
