Inkscape Help

Post by Jspece »

Why can I not "union" the round ball and the curved object below it? I drew the curved object with the Bazier pen.

Thanks

Ok how I did it was using the arrow to highlight the curved object below and hold down the shift key and highlight the ball and then go to path and click on "union" I assume this is what you wanted the new SVG file. That took a few more steps using the node tool to remove the straight line across the curve, I also reduced the line width,

Got it...So you can only union 2 objects with a closed path? ie the ball would not union to the curved object until the line was placed at the bottom to close the path?

not quite see images attached, when I clicked on the arch and then the ball (hold down the shift key) and then clicked on union, Inkscape added the lower line to the drawing. I then I move the unioned part away from the other. Then used the Node tool to add 2 nodes on the bottom line very close to the outside bottom of the arch see image. I them removed the small line parts which broke the connection to the arch, then remove that bottom line. I then moved the arch back to its original position. :)
