plasma firing issue

I have an old TM1. hypertherm 600. no AVHC. recently it has started this. it will go to the first pierce, fire, then go out. I back it up try again. sometimes it fires and goes. sometimes I have to back up a couple times. once I get through that initial problem its all good after that. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

check the relay inside the start box, the one that clicks when the torch fires. I had the same problem, it would fire sometimes and sometimes not. sometimes it would be cutting fine then the torch would lose fire. I called torchmate and they wanted $200 for the box...i got the number off the relay and ordered it for $7 online from an elecronics supplier. no problems since
