Hypertherm has a great business relationship with both Torchmate and with Lincoln......while we compete with Lincoln in the handheld plasma market (although our market share is considerably larger) we whave worked with Lincoln on many high end industrial plasma automation applications over the years.

Lincoln is a great company.....one of the things that makes them great is that they share their profitability with their employees. Hypertherm, is privately held (employee owned) and treats it's associates with similar perks and benefits. This philosophy makes for better products and better customer service through happy employees!

As far as Hypertherm potentially buying a company that builds CNC machines.....not likely! Our OEM customers are the manuafcturers of cnc machines......they purchase our Plasma's, our Height controls, our CNC controls and our Software (MTC Software)......if we manufactured cnc cutting machines we would be a competitor for our best customers!

I'm making my third monthly payment on a 4X4 Growth series machine from torchmate purchased through Lincoln in Canada. torchmate had re-jigged their build line so |I had to wait two months, then they said they shipped the machine to Ontario Lincoln to be CSA'd. Since then I haven't heard anything. I don't have a tracking number, a name to call, nothing. I would begin to think |I've been scammed but the companies I've been dealing with are legit. At least I know the bank has been taking money out of my account to cover the borrowing costs. Like I said, it's going to be my third monthly payment on a machine I've never even seen and I don't know when/if it will ever arrive. Be careful when you are buying a machine off of a company that's been bought by a much bigger company, sometimes the nice service that the small company built a reputation on gets overwritten by the larger, uncaring one.
