4x4 cables question

Post by oldironrep »

I'm moving my 4x4 table to another building and thought about hanging the cables and wires from the ceiling. I'm tired of not being able to sweep the floor and the dog running thru (and sometimes me) and catching the wires. Has anyone done that before and if you have how did you deal with signal cables too close to power cables etc.?

Thank you in advance.

You can build an overhead boom out of 2x2 tubing, running the signal cables on top and the power on bottom may be enough.

Something similar to this:

I run mine through an overhead boom created out of a television swivel wall mount. Just need to extend the arm with a piece of tubing. Works great.

I have been trying to come up with clever idea for an overhead cable carrier.

Torch lead only. Stepper power etc goes through cable chain.

Wanted to keep the separated. Plus can keep cable chain fairly small and light.

Only 4 x 4 table.

That TV mount sounds like it has potential. Any pics?
