CRICKETS

Post by Joe Jones »

Amazing. Almost no one uses The Owners Community Forum, and here on plasmaspider, the largest Internet forum for plasma table owners, there are two sub-forums specifically set aside for PlasmaCam owners, and DesignEdge software users. But this is evidently not the place where we communicate either. Where do you go? Facebook? How conditioned people really are.

Most (but not all) plasmacam users are DIY’ers.
I have scaled way back since metal and everything else has soared in price. Everything has skyrocketed except wages and what people are willing to pay for “all things plasma”. So it might be that many users have tightened their belts a bit, and are not using their machines as liberally as before. Which means less problems and questions. Just a thought tho..

That is probably a very big part of it. You make something beautiful, and the customer says, "I can get the same thing at Hobby Lobby for (insert ridiculously low price for cheap Chinese P.O.S. here).

People ask me if I can make this or that. I tell them I can make anything they can imagine. then I ask them if they are willing to pay the price for my work, and the conversation usually ends there.

We're busy as hell. Not nearly as busy as last year but busy nonetheless. I'm not sure the number of posts on a forum is a good metric for much of anything. I have a robust, ongoing communication with many owners across several communication channels.

You are not just the average hobbyists
Glad you guys are busy!
I am about as busy as I want to be and am thankful for the work that comes my way has more than paid off my equipment, which was my goal
But I do not burn as much as last year either.

Also, thanks for all of the help that you have provided many users in the past

Thanks Doug. It absolutely is my pleasure to serve. I have so much fun meeting people from all over the country in person and all over the world by the web. We are blessed! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Happy New Year!
