plasmacam problem or hypertherm problem

just got a hypertherm powermax 45 with a machine torch and a 4x4 plasmacam dhc2 hooked it up then try to start it it will not spark its like it wants to cut but wont we put a ohmic 220717 retaining cap on it and hyperthrem did the wiring on it but will not start so now we have a new torch and hyperthrem and cant use it hope some one can help. the tech thought it might be plamacam but we dont we think so it worked fine with our thermal dyanamics.could they have hooked it up wrong are there settings we need to change?vickiegib1

Does it fire with the TEST button?

The wiring to get a machine torch to fire is different. You need to locate the torch start pins on the machine interface connector on the back of the Hypertherm. They are usually pins 3&4. Connect the black and the white trigger wires from the Plasmacam torch control cable to the wires to pins 3&4.
