Turning a 4x4 into a 4x8

Post by Borntofabricate »

I found some old posts, but no directions or pictures. Who has done it?

If I understand correctly to turn a DHC2 into a 4x8 I will need to modify/extend the table, install longer gear racks for both sides, and pay Plasmacam a 1000 bucks (wth!?) ??

Anything else?

You'll also need to extend the wiring harness or call Plasmacam and get the one for the 5x10. I haven't personally done it but several have. Probably a lot of information could be searched for or asked on the Owner's Community. I think Bill Klemm made a list of what was required in parts and the prices.

Thanks. The harness won't reach even if the mast is in the middle?

It probably would reach. Again, I haven't done it personally since I already own the 5x10 but if you do a little testing and planning I'm sure it won't be too tough.
