Cut paths going out of closed paths

Post by Moonlight31 »

How do I stop cut paths going outside of closed paths? Picture for reference. You can see where I fixed one of the three that went out of the closed path. This piece in the picture is 1-1/2" wide and 12" long

Looks like your cutting with no offset. Change to inside offset and it will keep you kerf within the paths

This has nothing to do with your offset. You are already cutting with your offset towards the inside of the path. Here is what your file looks like.
Since you don't have the "exclude crossovers" box checked, then this is what your cut path will look like.
cut path 1.jpg
cut path 2.jpg
Now when the "exclude crossovers" box is checked, this will be the result.
Note that you will always want to set your cut path direction to "Cut parts to right of paths" when using plasma consumables with right hand swirl rings. Cutting in this direction will produce the least taper on the good side of your cut. So clockwise direction for outer perimeter cuts, and counter clockwise direction for inside cuts.

Right. Exclude crossovers is the box you want to check to prevent that.
