Pin 13 (Ground) on CPC connector.
I am working on one of my CNCCS books and am wiring the CPC, I have never actually used the ground connector on the connector.
What is it used for? Should I connect this to my CNC ground bus bar?
CPC Pin 13 Question.

Re: CPC Pin 13 Question.
Note that I have connected my PM65 to four different CNC machines and never used this pin. Also on hookup schematics I have found during searches, none have used this pin.

Re: CPC Pin 13 Question.
I have connected a few hundred Hypertherm Powermax systems using this cable. Never once connected the ground (and I worked for Hypertherm when I made most of these connections). It is actually a ground that could be used to help solve electrical noise interference issues (if you had them) These issues are rare with a blowback start plasma unit , as all Powermax systems are. So, in most cases there is no need to use the ground connection on the CPC or interface cable. Jim Colt

Re: CPC Pin 13 Question.
Thanks, that is kind of what I figured. Since it is for a book, I wanted to make sure.
