At my day job I built a simple catch pan for the iron worker that we have in our shop to catch small cuts (anything under about 3ft). It keeps the floor from geting chipped up and has also became "storage" of small cut scraps over the past few months. If anyone has a Piranha ironworker it should fit different tonnage models, if you have another brand at least it gives you the idea.

Re: Piranha P65 catch pan
It attaches by replacing the bolts on the protective cover with longer ones, then double nutting them so they stand off a half inch or so, the pan just hangs on the bolts. No need to secure it as it’s resting on the side of the ironworker and the bolt head keeps it from coming off

Man you really went the extra mile on that catch pan. Piranha should be getting you to build these for them! Thats awesome.

Re: Piranha P65 catch pan
Thanks! I’m surprised they don’t make something like this anyway, or maybe they do and I just didn’t see it in their catalog. I wanted it to look as close to original as possible, but I didn’t notice until after I cut it that the image I grabbed off the internet wasn’t the same piranha image on our machine. Oh well. My favorite thing about the pan is when I’m cutting a lot of small pieces that I’m about to use, they’re all waiting for me on the other side of the machine when I’m done.

Good to hear that it can be used by someone. It also helps to put a slight bend, maybe 10-15 degrees, above the bolt holes so that nothing thin will get in between the pan and the machine. You’ll see what I mean if you make it and hang it on there.
