2. If not... How are the two pieces attached?
3. How do you achieve that brushed stainless look?

Yes that is just a fake shadow underneath on the wall
The picture is just a render to show what it could look like

You can attach it several different ways, drill a few holes in the backing plate and use stand offs use a stud welder etc I used VHB tape

Use a burnishing wheel like the metabo or the ones Eastwood sell or by hand with a scotch bright pad and a sanding block and be very patient and keep sanding in the same direction forwards and backwards.

this was just a render to show what it could look like, but you could achieve the same look by playing with metal dyes, use candy clears, tinted powder coats, I have even gotten close to this same look with shaker cans by using one light coat of tail light tinting spray that they sell at advance o’Reilly’s letting it dry then clearing over it on aluminum.

i downloaded the dxf file. IMMEDIATELY it locked my flashdrive and asked for a password. Also Plasmacam software would work properly. Had to discard flashdrive because it WOULD NOT open or reformat. Had to do a hard shutdown and run virus scan when it rebooted..said I had a trojan horse. This could have been a windows thing also..JUST BEWARE !!!!!!

man i am sorry that happened to you, but i update my computer almost daily and run a full system scan every couple days and i just downloaded both files i uploaded scanned them with windows defender and spybot search & destroy, and did a full system scan with windows defender and it showed nothing. I'm not intentionally uploading infected files.. could a mod please review this check the files i uploaded and comment on it please!!

I use McAfee which does a scan on any downloads as they are happening to stop that from causing a problem on my system.

Add one more layer and you can easily do a 3 color flame job. I used Dynamic offset in Inkscape.
