Re: can someone make into cutable file
You wanted something suitable for a Christmas gift? Well, merry Christmas!! This looked very interesting so I jumped on it. I love doing different/unique drawings and put a lot into this one. So much detail I had to scale it to 48" tall for it to work with plasma. Done with back layer so there are 2pcs to show detail and give options on finish. Done right this will be an awesome piece. Of course you could always go laser etc. Go big or go home right? I didn't add fishnets. You got a scribe? Let me know, I'll do it.
As for "help": I did not use any expensive software. Just Torchmate cad v7.1. Over 10 years old. I drew this by hand in cad. I import the original image and use my node editing tool to pull out every feature possible. Shapes, colors, and lighting were all utilized here. You need to develop an eye for what to take and what to leave. I've been drawing about 12 years and to me there was nothing easy about this one. It was however a lot of fun...to me.
Maybe I'll start a You Tube channel...any subscribers?
Have fun guys!

Wow - that's impressive. I don't plan to cut it but I am going to study it a bit compared it to the original photo. Hopefully I'll learn something out of it.

Re: Suicide Squad Harley Quinn
You guys are AWESOME!!!
I would absolutely love to do this. I know many of you well, have personally met several and have had a few to my house that wanted to learn what they could. Some "casual observers" say I'd be putting myself out of a job. No way. I know not what manner of OCD related illness compels one to do a project like this for the fun of it. Not many can take the hours of node plotting by hand and all that goes into a piece like this. You guys know exactly, though. Won't even get into talent here...but I am SO thankful for what I have been given. So I'd love you guys to see how and why I do what I do. Who knows, it may be me that learns more from you... My cad is like 10 years old, but I cannot under any circumstances come close to finding any software that will help with any of what I do concerning stuff like this.
Now, any of you that have advice on what I need to do to accomplish this please feel free to assist. No big expenses at this point, but want done right. Don't really know where to start, but I do have a laptop with cam...can't be much different than Skype...right...?
Thanks guys!

https://www.techradar.com/news/the-best ... n-recorder
One of these (free) screen recorders, a decent mic, and you should be good to go (I would think). Not sure why we'd need to see anything outside the boundaries of your screen, so a screen recorder should work fine.
I do a lot of my own drawings, and I'm certainly capable of doing so. However, being a one-man-show means I have to leverage my time. Even though I can draw my own files (and usually have to do customer files), I'll usually just buy a file if it's cost (in $) is less time than it would take me to draw it (in minutes). My drawing charge is $60/hr ($1/min), so it's pretty easy to see what kind of "time" I'm buying. If you offer a $20 file that would take me 30 minutes to draw, I'm "money ahead" by just buying yours.
That's my long way of saying, I don't think you'll be putting yourself out of competition. May be a great way to get in front of some eyeballs, though.

Re: Suicide Squad Harley Quinn
I use a program called hyperCAM here is a download site (others are out there) I think it was free, I did see one place the said $39.99 so check it out.
https://download.cnet.com/HyperCam/3000 ... 04511.html
I have made many tutorial type videos that used the image on the screen of my PC, simple to use you select the section of the screen to record and hit F2 and it records and then F2 to stop. I use the same mic that I use for Skype (cheap microsoft webcam). I use a video editing software called AVSVideo Editor, It came with a bundle of about 5 titles (for $60) I only use the video edit.
https://www.avs4you.com/register.aspx. both work well and I have recorded many videos and posted them on YouTube, or sent them to others via the Google drive. Ben I sent you a PM with a link to the Google drive with a short tutorial I made so you can see how it works.
I'm sure there is better software but I go for the inexpensive.

Re: can someone make into cutable file
When you do, pull the original image into cad and scale manually until they are sized EXACTLY. A direct overlay. At this point you will be able to see precisely what I did. I choose a bright red color from my pallette so all lines are clearly visible. For the most part all profiles will be be exact, only making room and having offset for plasma etc. A little artistic licensing if you will.Paint Chip wrote:Wow - that's impressive. I made this one a while back, a bit different, but it came out pretty well, scale it to a larger size, if needed, to prevent burnouts, or thicken thin areas.
