gun rack

Post by jsd010 »

A simple gun rack. if you have a break, the pieces could be modified to use it. The picture is one a student made for his final.

I usually use 14 or 11 Gauge. We wrap the rests in clear plastic tubing or have riveted leather onto them to protect the guns.

Very nice work by your student. I recently made an overhead fishing pole rack and used the self stick car door edge protector molding. You can find it in several colors. Get the smallest size that will fit your metal. Works well if your curves are not to tight.........RK.

that would work on an inside radius like this? I need a gun rack for 25 JROTC rifles and scratching them up is one of the concerns of mine.

Looks very nice, I hope that student got a REALLY good grade. Sure wish I had this type of training while I was in high school.

Hi ETCWeld. It should work OK on the inside radius where the stock or barrel would rub. You can use a heat gut to make the molding more limber but don't get it too hot. Hold it in place til it cools. It would not stay on over the peak of the hook of the rack. The radius is way to small there. Russ K
