Random Files

Post by RobinHillMachine »

I did a free Robin Hill Machine file hour yesterday. Here are the files I drew.

A variety of cars, trucks, race car, dog, heart tree, mountain range.

Some files have drop outs. Bridge, adjust, and check spacing before cutting.

Thanks for the file share! You are pretty fast if you manually traced all of these in an hour. It would probably take me an hour just to trace one of them.
Nice work.

Once a month I host a free file hour in a Plasma Facebook group. I draw all the files as quickly as humanly possible, thus there may be errors in the designs.

I spent about 2 hours this time. I usually do 1 hour time limit but it's before the holidays so I wanted to help more people.

No, it took 2 hours to draw them. I just call it the "Robin Hill Machine Free File Hour". I go as long as I feel like that day.

Words mean things. "Draw" is not the same thing as TRACE, or COPY. I contend that no one can DRAW this collection of graphics from scratch in two hours time.

Thanks Julie! I can see that - I know you've been doing this for years and as I recall you are using an older version of CorelDraw. Call it drawing, tracing, or whatever - just a huge difference in skill level between someone with your experience and us other Plasmacam Design Edge guys. Actually the main reason I purchased Coreldraw 2020 about a year ago is because of its awesome tracing tool - much faster than Design Edge. Always have to keep all your options open. Now all I have to do is practice.

Some of us can. :HaHa We don't post our work unless we are willing to release it to the public domain.

Again ... there is a big difference between DRAWING something and TRACING something. I have no doubt that she could trace these 11 designs in two hours or less. It would not even take me that long to trace them. Of course, it opens up the question of the original source, and Copyright issues. Just because I can find something on the Internet or pull a file from some library of artwork and TRACE it, and then post it to a forum like plasmaspider does not mean it is now a FREE file. It only means that the person who traced and shared it does not control the Copyright.

I am not at all surprised by people who are amused by the blatant and unauthorized duplication of intellectual property.

I draw based on photos. I DRAW. DDDDRRRAAAAAWWWW. I'm not using an auto converter. Not running a trace program and cleaning lines.

I love Corel! I use x7. I've considered upgrading to a newer version but they newer model doesn't offer anything new that I need.
