Somewhat Geo Spider Web

Post by TXBluegrass » Fri May 13, 2022 4:26 pm

Here is a spider web I put together, size 21" x 21" with 1/2' threads. Somewhat more geometric than others I have seen. Hope you can use it.

Very nicely done! I wasn't sure what you meant by 1/2" threads - I was thinking about threaded bolts or rods. But now I understand.
Thanks for sharing with us.

TXBluegrass ...

I am just curious ...

Is this how you drew it, by trimming out one slice and making a polar array of 32?

True. But when I work in my shop, somewhere in the back of my mind, I hear Frank Sinatra singing, " ... I did it Myyyyyy Waaaaaayyyyy!!!"

In any case, I think this is a much easier task for those fortunate enough to be using Design Edge - very powerful editing tool - which last time I checked can be purchased directly from Plasmacam as a stand-alone program for around $3k including advanced design. But still pretty expensive for the average Joe. I remember paying around $1800 for my Aspire license. I used VCarve Pro for several years and then decided to plunk down my hard earned cash for the upgrade to Aspire. I have never looked back.

Yep. I have V-Carve PRO, but Aspire is on my Christmas Wish List!
