setting up a floating head

can anyone tell me step by step the correct way to set up my floating head for the z axis.I can't get the actual distances(pierce and cut height) the same as the distances shown in the Mach DRO screen.

You need to have a post processor that is setup to add the floating head configuration to the G-code automatically. This post processor is depently on the the electronics you are using and the software. This will add the command G28 for the homing of the Z axis and look at the floating head switch.
If you post the software and the type of interface with the table someone will get back with you to help.
