rapid clearance

Post by KBMETALWORK »

I have a older Dyna Torch 5X 10 table running Dyna Torch CNC Cutting Systems Version 3.6.0.207 (Feb 2012 Release)
I use Sheetcam to generate the G coed using the Dynatorch processor option.
I have tried to set the rapid clearance to 1 inch but it continues to raise all the way up before each move. It need a code M125 with amount of rise interred in the g coed before the first g 23 entered.
How can I fix this without entering it manually?

Thank You
Kenny

Yes that is where I have it set, but it doesn't generate it into the G code. I not sure why.

It would have to be the post processor that does it. You might try asking your question over in the Sheetcam forum where Les can help you out. He's very good at helping over there.

if you post a sample job file (so I can experiment) and show me what you need the gcode to look like, I can try and modify the post for you. It shouldn't be too difficult. You're using the post called Dynatorch, correct?

Above the first G23 the ( M125 P0.5 ) needs to be seen. The P0.5 will raise the torch 1/2"
Sheetcam has a box to set this but it doesn't seem to work.
Thank You

So before line m0120 you need M125 P0.5 ? That's the only change, or before each G23? Can you attach the job file so I can experiment with it to make sure it works?

Just before the first G23 and it will stay in until the complete code has run.

I can add it manually after the G code is created in Sheet Cam or I can convert a DXF with the Dyna Touch program and it will enter it

Give this a try. I had to zip it, the forum would not accept an .scpost file.

That works. I haven't tried cutting anything yet but running the post processor on some files it looks good. Now when I change the rapid clearance value on the job options in Sheetcam it puts it in the G code.

Thank You
