Feed rate Issue

Has any one had an issue with the tool set on hypertherm with a plunge rate. Sheet Cam
When I run a file through the post processor it runs the first few lines at plunge rate then jumps up or down to feed rate speed, I can manually change the plunge rate to feed rate and cure my problem, but what is the definition of plunge rate.???

Plunge rate should be the feed rate when it drops from pierce height to cut height. What controller are you using?
