When my cutting is finished the z axis will raise 1 inch then travel back to where I started from ( x-0 y-0 ) but once it stops there the DRO on the mach3 screen will display a different height. Maybe .98 or .37 or some other number but the z axis has not moved down any.
It shows 1 inch while traveling and only changes when movement has stopped.
While cutting a file z axis appears to be showing correctly on the DRO.
I posted a question a while back about all my axis not working. It turned out the torch height control quit supplying the 5 volts needed to power the gecko drivers.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

It is just running on the g code that sheetcam produced for the cut.

Re: z axis numbers change on mach screen when motion stops
I have a MP1000. I was down for a month and a half because all axis quit one day. I changed gecko drivers, computers, rewired the main box, uninstalled and reinstalled software, new parallel cables, It turned out the problem was the common 5 volt power supplied from the MP1000 to the gecko drivers.
I sent the MP1000 to CANCNC and they replaced a board in it.
I set the computer back up the way I had it before all the troubleshooting and everything else seems to be ok.
The only thing I can think of that I haven't tried yet is a different screen set. I wouldn't think that would make a change.
THANKS

Re: z axis numbers change on mach screen when motion stops
What you are probably seeing is MACH unwinding the Offsetting . Depending on how you have the M30 behaving. You have 2 options in GenConfig for the M30. 1. remove all offsetting on M30(program rewind and reset) or 2. leave everthing as is.
My guess it is set to remove all offsetting on M30.
For plasma work I would change the setting and give it a try.
Just a thought, (;-)TP

Farmer53. Look in the Config , Genconfig , Lefthand side middle of the screen under At program END. See IF the box is checked for DO G92.1 at program end. IF SO uncheck it. That should solve the Problem.
