Mach 3 license question

Post by BluegrassDiesel »

This is my first post here. Recently have acquired a used ArcPro 12000 5x10 table with Hypertherm 65. I have really enjoyed learning to use it and this forum has been a big part of that process for me. Today the hard drive in my computer decided it was time to go. This is the computer that I use to control my table. I do all my drawing and sheetcam work on a separate computer in my office and only use the table computer for running Mach3. My question is, can I just pay the $175 for another copy of Mach3 to install on another computer and then be good to go? Or are there specific settings/configurations that Arclight has for Mach3? I downloaded a free trial version of Mach3 onto my office computer but the interface/dashboard looks much different than the one that was on the computer that came with the machine. ArcLight has good customer service, but would like to get this going ASAP as I have a couple of parts I need to run. I have another computer ready to go.

Appreciate any input

If you already bought Mach then just install it on the new computer and insert the license you have.

I’m the 3rd owner of the machine so everything was already installed on it when I got it.

If you are just looking at the screen display to be the same there is most likely a special screen set that Arclight has made for uses on their system. This would be stored in the main Mach 3 folder and can be changed very easy when in Mach. Click on View and a drop down menu will appear click on "load screens" it will open up the menu shown with the different screen sets named (you may have different names on yours). There should be a screen set for Arclight, you pick the one you want to try click on it and the screen will go black for a few seconds and then show the new screen set for Mach. Just repeat to change to another or back to the one you were using.

You'll also have an xml file with all of the motor settings and inputs & outputs, etc. Without the xml from your old system you're pretty much starting at square one.

Update:
Was able to finally recover my PC after I found a windows XP install disc. Used the recovery mode to find and fix errors in the hard drive

You may copy the Mach 3 folder to a CD for storage if needed later.

For sure. Arclight has a clone procedure tutorial on their website. Going to get that done asap.
