Post up your Velocity and acceleration numbers

Postby BensPlasmaAu » Thu Oct 06, 2016 3:48 am

Hi all,

I am still confused as to what i need to set my velocity and acceleration numbers to. I use mm/min. Can anyone put up what they have?
Home built 3400 x 1400mm (11 and a bit X a bit over 4.5 feet)
Hypertherm Powermax 45
CandCNC Bladerunner IV
Some air dryer off the internet
Another water seperator I found unused on a shelf
Refrigerated air dryer

I think this information will be nearly worthless to you, as it's going to be completely dependent on the construction (rigidity) of your table, as well as the drive system (belt, gears, motor specs, etc) you use.

That said, my Bulltear 6x12 runs 500ipm rapids (may go faster, but I've had no need to mess with it), and 40ips^2 accel. I've had it as high as 45ips^2, but didn't really notice a benefit, so I dialed it back down. That is for X, y, and A axis. Z is substantially less (150 ipm, 32ips^2, I believe), because I haven't felt the need to change it

Hi motoguy,

My machine is pretty much same spec of drive etc as the Bulltear. 3:1 reduction drive belt 620 motors. Its just to give me an ide as to what people are running and how far out i am.

When you say rapids, is that in reference to where you put velocity in motor tuning?

Cheers, Ben.
