Torch wont fire after cutting one part

Post by Flatline16 »

I cut a part this evening and moved to the next part to cut. I was half way through and the torch wont fire just went through the movements.
When I try to manually fire the torch the output signal blinks but the arc ok signal is not lit up. It used to light up when it was working

No codes on the hypertherm powermax 65. I'm sure its the candcnc/mach3 component.

What is going on? Any suggestions to try.

What is your set up?
Do you use a usb hub and are all the LED hub lights on?
I am pretty sure that the arc ok only lights after the arc is made when running a file

You can short the "arc ok" leads to force the arc ok on, but the arc ok normally doesn't come on until after the torch fires. So we need to figure out why the torch isn't firing. Can you manually fire it from Mach3?

This has been asked before over on CandCNC site. Cycle the power on the hub.
Then make sure you have power saving turned off on the USB ports, Ethernet port, etc.
Also make sure you have ALL the latest updates from the site. (Hub, DTHC, Ethernet, Mach, Sheetcam, CNC)
Have not had any issues since.

I had mach pulled ip and tried to manually fire the torch. It would not fire at all. In the diagnositcs scree output1 was blinking when yhe torch fire button was clicked.

This morning I booted the system up today. I had the plasma cutter unplugged. I clicked the torch fire and I heard a click from the box ( it was not doing this yesterday, the noise was a good sign) and the pwn sensor torch on led was red. I plugged the torch in and it manually fires now.

When I set up the system I turned power saving mode off. Is there a way to specifically turn off power saving mode to the usb ports?

I would still like to find the cause of this problem incase it happens again.

Hi flatline 16

After you have booted up your system are both the red LED's illuminated on the usb hub :?:
You must have both (all the time) for the CandCNC stuff to communicate between the different parts.
No LED's No communication No torch fire. :(
