What am I missing??

Post by Largemouthlou »

Just hooked up a new to me computer and Candcnc blade runner dthc2 hooked up floating head and changed switch offset in my old post processor to 0. Zero out dro when Ft sensor lights up and hit run. The torch height is .50 higher then dro is reading.

Is there a special post possessor?? Motors are tuned correctly (same as old computer). Figured I would start with post processor and work down. When the Z dro says 1" it is actually 1.5 above material.. I don't see it in the G code but figured I would ask.

Checked everything I know to check in mach, I didn't do the install computer came with electronics was working when shipped.. I transferred all my motor tuning and double checked the z for proper steps.

If you manually move the Z so the DRO reads 1" how far does it really move?

Change the switch offset to 0.001" I found if you put 0 it defaults to 0.054" :o

SP, thought about that after I shut down last night, all the time I had it in my head that the steps were the same as old electronics so never did think of it till I shut down as a back ck. Thanks

Jester, I will try that but the g code did say zero..

I have another problem that may be tied in, on this new to me computer with mach (special version) installed, when I hit cut profiles to pick settings for cutting nothing happens, no list comes up. Does this have to disabled if your using the new hypertherms and cut rules?? (which I'm not)

Also the thc percentage number on the settings page is showing a minus number and I can not get it to a plus number like on my old settings.

If the G-code shows 0 then what I said is not happening. The G-code was where I saw the 0.157" to know what was happening with mine.

Cut Profiles, I've got to go back and look it up but I thought that was only if you had RS485 and Hypertherm. (I have both and it works) Had to install the license for Hy-T if I recall.

Steps are correct, zero dro and 1" up is 1" so I can ck that off. Going to contact the gentleman I purchased from and see if he can give me some insite on his settings. I'm still using a 1250 hypertherm so have to set up my cut files in storred settings in mach.

Thanks and keep them coming..

If your using SheetCam it is better to setup the tools there so they are in the G-code when you generate them.

Okay, I deleted mach off the new to me computer, reinstalled then upgraded with master installer X of Toms site. Installed license and most issues went away. DTHC2 passed all tests and did a few small test cuts. But no volts showing, went back through manuals and found that the old 1250 hyper doesn't have a voltage divider card, so that is in-route from Tom now..

I haven't down loaded the sheet cam file from tom's site yet, I'm running the newest version on a separate computer. That will be next I guess.
I'm assuming that is where your post possessor comes from because it is not in my drop down list in my SC

Downloaded from his site then go into sheetcam and get to the post processor section and click on import post then tell it where you have if stored and it will make it available for you to select later.
If you don't have Ether-cut edit the post by finding this line and be sure it is 0 it is a few lines down from the top.

ethrCut = 0 --set this to 1 if you have the EtherCut and have upgraded the drivers to the 12-19-14 or later upgrade
