PCM to DXF - ends up in segments for Laser Cutter

Post by TammyVB »

I use PlasmaCam software to finish my patterns and turn them into cut paths. I export the files as DXF files. I e-mailed some of my files to some different laser cutting companies for quotes. Two of the companies told me that the patterns were not usable and they would have to literally trace around them to cut them. They said the patterns were in lots of tiny segments.

I am wondering what I can to fix this so the patterns are cut-ready when I e-mail them.

Is there some way to import the DXF file into AutoCad (I think they have the newest version at the college I go to) and do some kind of command to link the segments together and then save them?
