Automatic Kerf Compensation

Post by rocksolidframes »

Without automatic kerf compensation, if cutting out a deer with antlers of a small scale, if you don't widen them they will be destroyed from the heat. I have a Tracker table that doesn't have that automatic feature. I do all my drawing preperation on Plasma Cam which seems to be easier for me then other programs that I also have like Carol Draw and Auto Cad. I may be mistaken but I think Plasma Cam Takes all the work out of this by automatically adjusting your lines to compensate for the kerf. I guess it just needs to know which side of the line your leadins are, the size tip, and may be the heat and speed may play into it. Anyway my question is, how would I go about getting my machine to recognise the automatic kerf compensation of plasmacam?

Thanks, Saddlebur

Convert the drawing to a cut path with the offset. You can export the drawing from Plasmacam as a DXF or as g-code and it will have the offset which you should be able to import to your Tracker. You should just get a Plasmacam! lol
