New to design edge drawing basics

Hello from South Carolina. just set up my Plasma cam table with the design edge software and started cutting out some shapes. When I try to design something myself I'm having some trouble. Tring to figure out how to draw a line to a specific length.

Tom - this actually is the Plasmacam - Design Edge section. So he did come to the right place for answers about the software. The other section if for questions about the hardware.
