Torchmate 9.0 rev. 1

Post by Arcman » Sat Feb 25, 2023 2:50 pm

If I change the size of a hole in the drawing sometime after it is changed the program will change it to another size. Anyone ever have this happen.

Do you notice the hole size has changed after you open the file at a later date or does it change on its own in the software during the same session?

I just drew a hole, copied it and changed the size.

Then I saved the program and closed, then opened the same program and the circles are still the same size.

Perhaps you could share the program here that you are having trouble with, and I will take a look.

It changes sometime between drawing and exporting

I really don't know what you are doing wrong. I doubt it is a problem with the actual TMCad program, maybe programmer error. I would need to see screen shots of your actual process (step by step) to try to help you further. In the example below, I created a 24" diameter circle, exported as dxf, opened with another program, and also imported the file back to TMCad. Everything looks as it should. Perhaps show us exactly what you are doing when you are attempting to resize the circle. Screen shots would be nice.

Maybe check to be sure you are exporting it and opening it in the units of measurement it was drawn in.

TMCad does not appear to have the option to switch to metric units or export as metric. Inches only as far as I can tell. If exported as inches and opened with another program as metric, then it would be off by a factor or 25.4. So I doubt this is causing the OP's problem.

David,

TM does does indeed import/export in metric. Simply click the ruler as in this screenshot and select metric. I really like this system as it allows me to keep my guidelines in the background set to 1" square so my 'calibrated eyeball' still works. :HaHa

Concerning the OP's issue I have no clue and likewise need more info on what's transpiring here.

Thanks for that Ben! As a TMcad "newbie" I'm still feeling my way around with it. I never would have guessed that I had to click on the ruler. It's probably explained somewhere in the manual I would imagine.
