Dose any one know how to view a .tap file other than opening it in mach3

can it be opened in sheet cam or does some one know of a .tap file viewer

There a G-code views. Google G-code views, some free some really proud of their work.
Don't remember which one I have on the other computer. I'll repost when I get over to that one.

If you just want to see the code use notepad in windows. it is just a text file.

As pertneer says, notepad works fine for viewing and editing the .tap file, it's all I use.

Notepad is also what is used by Mach 3 to edit G-codes form there too. As long as you select it in the General config page and the Editor.

Ever better is a free utility called NotePad++ that is a lot easier to edit with and save files and work on multiple files at the same time.

I was wanting to see the actual drawing. I know it is note pad some times I forget what I have named something and think what the HE** is that.

I will try the g code view sphurley I tried searching every thing but that.

SheetCam has it's own simulator that runs it also. It is not always 100% right on how it will cut especially on open lines so sometimes you have to read the G-code and verify its not making multiple trips on open lines. I have also found on open lines if you put a lead-in of .01 or some real minimal number that fixes open lines.
