I'm just getting around to playing with 3D CAD. FreeCAD wouldn't run on my computer. OpenSCAD is okay, but it's for 3D printing. I'd like to find a 3D CAD program where once a part is built, then I can highlight a face and "seperate" it into a 2D CAD program.

I think it can be done from SolidWorks to Dreamscape.

I'm running rhino that I purchased as an upgrade with my TruCut CNC table as I would like to work into drawing 3D parts to have CNC milled. I've discovered though that Rhino is more of an art 3D CAD program rather than an engineering based 3D CAD software.

I am looking at switching over to Autodesk Fusion 360 as it has a low monthly subscription and no 4 figure buy in like many of the other professional CAD programs do.
