Question about nodes

I am using Corel Draw X4. I made a file, then combined all of the objects. I then double clicked on the drawing and the shape tool appeared and all of the nodes became visable. I used the slider bar to reduce the nodes. When I checked the properties it says the total number of nodes is 345. I then saved the file, opened it up in Corel X4, and now the file has 10151 nodes. I'm confused. Why does the file now have all those extra nodes after being saved?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
