Help with trace

Post by grindergary »

I took a scroll pattern from google search and did a trace. Moved vector away to one side highlighted lines and removed all color. I then took the vector over top of the original to remove extra lines and double line. I don't know what I did then but I cannot move the vector from the original.I have attached the original and the pattern I was trying to make.

Any help to let me know what I did wrong would be greatly appreciated. This has not happened before.

I tried to ungroup but no go.

I wanted to make a corner bracket so I was going to split it on a 45 degree angle.

Thank you in advance

Gary

i norm just import, trace, delete import and save as dxf.

I am not sure on the program you used. I use vcarve and aspire for tracing and drawing.

Thank you for the trace! I used Corel X6.

Normally I would do the same procedure you describe. When I did the trace, some of the curves were out of round so I placed the vector over the original to move the nodes to the correct position so the curves were smooth.

Thank you for the help.

Keith,

I added a CDR file for you to see if it will open for you. If it does, see left side is colored from original under neath of vector.

I just can't figure out what I may have done.

I did re do the trace and it worked out pretty good. Wilber did one and mine looks close to the one he did.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Gary

Sorry Gary,

that one wouldn't open in my X5 either. I was looking forward to seeing if I could figure it out too.
