Converting dxf to black and white picture

Post by Complete_Loser »

Ok. We are now realizing we will need to get our designs converted into black and white pictures
for customers approval. It seems a black and white image is much easier on the eye than a white background and black cut path (outline). I hope im making sense. :?

We have managed to be able to do it. Export as dxf. Then open in my editing program (winpcsign), export as .bmp. Then open in paint and monotonously color/fill in all the appropriate parts of the image.

Anyone have a faster way?
You want it done cheap and fast, it wont be right.

Hey CL...I use Corel and it's a snap. Simply open the DXF, select the outer wireframe only (leave the interior objects) and click on FILL...done. Then I save it as a jpeg and I've got my sample image in seconds. This isn't going to help you at all if you don't have Corel but you can pick it up on Ebay real cheap. I use both version 9 and 13, 13 doesn't save DXF file very well which is why I keep 9 around.

Anyway, I need to say THANKS for your powder coat tips a couple weeks ago. I finally got around to coating some parts last night and followed the temp and time to as perfect as I could like you said and the parts turned out much better. Thanks a million CL. Oh ya, and thanks Pspider.
