kerf vs thickness

Post by dava »

On the plasma table we use I was looking at the kerf vs material thickness, and I noticed something on mild steel as the material gets thicker the kerf setting gets larger,(which makes sense) however with stainless the thicker material gets, the smaller the kerf value gets, why is this?

It may be the cutting process is different for the 2 metals, you may search here about cutting stainless.
