air dryer location

Post by dsanford55 »

about decided to buy an air dryer tired of moisture issues.
i'm thinking about installing the dryer right beside the plas cutter. In other words plumb directly from the air dryer to the hypertherm plasma cutter.
the dryer would be about 100' from the air compressor.
i've hard lined the air system with drops about every 35'.

any input on plumbing directly from the dryer to the plama machine?
thanks,
David

An air dryer and particulate filter is a MUST have in my opinion.

I was told to install my Sharpe 6760 20' or further from my air compressor (further is better so your in good shape) and close to my plasma cutter so it sounds like you on the right on track.

I only use my air dryer for the plasma cutter, I have just basic filtration for the rest of my shop air outlets so I don;t have to replace the desiccant very often.

thanks for your input.
i'm only using the dryer when cutting on the plasma cutter, and I've got the particulate filters also. figured i would just use a 3' lead hose with quick disconnect and come directly off the dryer to the plasma cutter.

thanks again!
