hypertherm problem

I have a Hypertherm 600, when I turn the machine on the air freeflows out of the torch, any ideas??

Is the amperage knob turned all the way down to the "purge" setting? (gotta check the easy answers first)

The air solenoid is stuck open. You can disassemble it and clean it.....that may work. otherwise it should be replaced. Dirt and moisture in your air system would be the likely culprit. You can download the service manual from www.hypertherm.com. Click on download library, choose system type (Powermax600), then manuals, then service manual.
