Part Help

Post by sodfarmer »

Hello,

I have a customer that needs an assembly made with the part in the picture. I will need a total of around 60 of these. Does anyone know where I could have these made or possibly buy online?

Thanks,
John

It doesn't seem (in my mind) like it'd be too tough to come up with a little fixture to put the chunk of tube in, plasma cut the length of it, turn a bit and cut again (remove material to make a slot). Then flip over in another fixture which indexes the slot, and cut the length on the other side. Would need a bit of trial and error to get the width of the slot correct, since the drawing looks like you are somewhere short of 180*.

The other possible problem--the tube is going to "spring" open once it's cut. Not sure if that will affect anything with what you're using it for....
