Glass CAN be powder coated with a transparent or candy..
But find a GOOD coater.

are you certain it wasn't mirrored/tinted plexi glass?
thyieson Krupp (sp?) sells the stuff nationally, they even have it in textures

Well, I too have had a similar occasion to find myself a blue as well as green mirror and both of them were staggering. Later on, I learned that what they do to make these is indeed simple. All you need to do is powder coat the mirror with either transparent or candy provided you have a good and experienced coater.
