There is a scammer out there called Laradesigns that goes as many names on facebook. They plagurize many designs and sell them as packages. They were traced to Morocco at one point. They may be behind plasmadxf but the world is a big place and there are many files one can find for free.

It is too bad that art design files do not work like Bitcoin. They should all have a blockchain digital record that comes with them.

John draws a great image of an eagle. John wants $1,000.00 for the drawing. He enters the art file into the Blockchain DATABASE with its own unique identifier.

All participating files are sold through the blockchain clearing house.

John SELLS the drawing to Paul for $1,000.00 The blockchain DATA says that the eagle now contains $999.90/PAUL/JOHN

Paul sells the drawing to Fred for $999.90. Paul has now paid $0.10 for the drawing after he sells it to Fred, and the blockchain is now $999.80/FRED/PAUL/JOHN

The process continues until the drawing finally sells for $0.10 to the 10,000th buyer. Each of them has paid only $0.10 for the file which they legally own and have the rights to reproduce, etc. The blockchain now reads $0.00/EDWARD/SALLY/BILL/[..]/FRED/PAUL/JOHN

Result:

The original artist was paid $1,000.00 for the art file.

Each of 10,000 people has legally purchased the Right to use and reproduce the file for only $0.10

The clearing house makes money by deducting one penny (10%) from each transaction. Therefore they make $100.00 for handling the digital transactions blockchain for that file.

People could open a blockchain account with a $5,000.00 opening deposit for example, through which they would buy and sell the files as their funds are available. They can add funds as needed, like a savings account.

When the value of the file reaches $0.00, it CEASES to be distributed. If someone wants the file after that point, they can purchase it directly from the clearing house for $0.10, where it will be archived. Everybody WINS!

if life (and IT) were so simple.....

it will probably cost $xB to get the system in place and thousands of iterations to get it right...... can't even get twitter, facebook, ebay, etc and whatever to follow the rules on copyright and inappropriate images, material, content etc etc......

Thanks for that! I did take a look at their site and they do have some interesting files. Many of these "cut ready" files do actually need some clean-up work anyway. I cut mostly brackets and such, and am really not it he "plasma art" business. But for those who are, these may be some files worth taking a look at.

Was looking for some wall panels and figured this package might be a good starting point. Anyway, saw there is a Black Friday deal going on for $54 and figured it might be worth it. Remembered this thread, so came back to review the comments and saw coupon code. Anyway, I tried the MAY40 code and it worked (dropping another $21.60) to total $32.40. Went ahead and purchased it. For those that have previously purchased, have you seen updates come into the package?

I know of several instances where folks have taken existing artwork and traced it, reduced node count, etc. and offer it for sale as their own.
