What is the preferred split monogram Font

Post by Complete_Loser »

What is ya'lls preferred font for using in the center of the split monograms?
Not the monogram itself. But the center font. (circled in red)

I would say whatever font suites you customer's taste. You can always show them a few examples to choose from as it is so quick and easy to size and union your lettering to your monogram.

So like in the above example, the S and the O had to be shrunk down to match the overall height of the B T and N.
Which is annoying. Wondering if there are any fonts that are actually better suited to this, to save seat time.

That actually may be the display of the software you are using, Now I have found it is better to use capitals for the name in the monogram. If you use Inkscape when you union the letters will unit with a smooth appearance for the cut file. You can also separate each letter and adjust the size to make them equal to correct what you are showing.

I use a program called Font Viewer, it is free. You type in your text and size and it will display a list of all the fonts on your computer showing the text you wrote. Just look for one that is even sized.
I don't like to give customers a choice as that can turn into a s**t show pretty quick. Plus I use Autocad so I manually trim every letter to the monogram which takes time.

It looks like you are using Design Edge, as I do as well. But I also do much of my work with Inkscape. As Tom said, if you use Inkscape and union the letters to the monogram (depending on the particular font you are using) it will automatically smooth out the tops and bottoms of the letters so they will all appear the same size. This could save some time over manually trimming each letter.

I have no experience with 3.11. When I bought my Plasmacam table about 6 years ago Design Edge was the current offering. But thanks for the clarification.
