Table maintenance

Post by Improvise »

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding table maintenance. I was wondering what the best preventative maintenance is for the side and gantry rails is?
My table is only a couple of months old but because the side and gantry rails and racks are raw steel they are starting to get powdery rust on them. Is there something I should coat on them that will protect them but wont attract dust and dirt. I'm worried that this will get into the bearings and create premature wear.
Any other advice on this sort of table?
Also, just wondering how often people clean out there water tables?

Ok roger that. The rest of the table frame is powder coated. Not sure why they didn't powder coat the bars or is it because the bearings could possibly damage the paint.
