routing the torch cable

How has everyone run the torch cable? Suspended above on cables? I was told this is bad because is may cause wavy cuts. Along the gantry? on the floor. this seems counter intuitive? thoughts

How big is your table is the first question? My 2x2 has a pivoting pole the over head torch cable swings off of, the 6x12 has E Link on both runs.

I run mine in the cable chain along with everything else. Some people have problems with interference, but I've never had any issues.

I have always used a cable boom, on the larger tables I have a swivel mechanisms to help the boom follow the torch. I also anchor the cable above the torch so it's movement does not effect the cutting action.

my table is a 4x4 bolt together type. I have the cables ran over the table suspended on d hooks and cable. I do not have the loop or u at the torch head.

This is the 2x2 setup:
The left pole (Y-Axis control cable / no - Z is adjustable but set screwed in place) The right pole pivots as the gantry moves

When I first set up my table, I did run the plasma cable thru the cable chain. While it didn't seem to cause much trouble, there would be an occasional "anomaly" when cutting. (I learned a new word from Space X). I moved the torch cable to a swinging boom and have had no more "anomalies". My boom swings on ball bearings, so it doesn't seem to affect cutting quality at all.
