Computer problem - Have to press F1 to boot
I have replaced 3 computers on my cnc plasma in the last 2 months .They start by saying I need to hit the f1 key to continue
and then they start cutting off unexpectedly sometimes in the middle of a cut . Has anyone else had this problem
could it be a grounding issue or just bad computers ? .thanks for any help..

Re: Computer problem
Question did you try replacing the battery on the motherboard, having to hit F1 is a sign that the battery is failing. the F1 is to have you go into the BIOS to set the environment for the computer's operation at the boot time. The battery is normally a CR2032 coin type battery very easy to replace.

Re: Computer problem
You need too ask someone knowledgeable on computers about taking out the battery. I did that on one of my computers, a Windows 10 and my IT guy had to redue the computer.

Worked fine on my windows 7 system and many others, Windows has done things to make it so money is the only thing that matters. Any votes for subscription software

I understand being a really old goat I have seen things reach a point that many think you can fix anything with a cell phone app, If not you junk it. Here is what I had suggested above https://www.wikihow.com/Replace-the-Battery-in-Your-PC

Re: Computer problem
A bad power supply can cause it to shut down. I've also had bad or not completely seated RAM cause it to act funny.
