Help with memory loss... lol (Actually layering effect)

I'm hoping you guys can help me with my old age memory problem. I was involved in a post a couple (maybe 3 or 4) months ago regarding attaching 2 pieces of metal for the layering effect. Someone told me about an adhesive tape where you apply the tape to the piece and then remove it, and it leaves only the adhesive on the metal parts that it touches. I have searched this site, google and amazon trying to locate that product and can't seem to find it. I can't remember what it was called but I think it was something that was typically used for car trim or something to that affect.

I went back thru all of my posts and can't seem to find it. I don't want the double sided tape. Although similar, this other product only left the adhesive behind so you didn't have to trim anything that might otherwise show.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please, please remind me of the product name. Thanks!

the product you may be looking for is a cell phone screen tape, I works like double sided tape but is very thin like you said just the adhesive.

Thanks everyone. I did go back through all of my previous posts and couldn't find anything but I'm sure it was a discussion in this group. I looked at the 3M Mounting tape but I don't think that was it. The description makes it sound like it's another double sided tape which means that you would have to trim it if you use it on small pieces.

I think the cell phone screen tape that acourtjester mentioned is the one I was looking for. Reading through the description it sounds like it anyway. Unfortunately they think highly of their product. lol I'm still going to order a roll and give it a try.
