I'm shopping for a table. Please help!

Postby osweld » Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:26 am

I am doing research to find a table that will fit my needs. I have a project coming up that it will cost me over $1000 to have parts cut. I have been looking seriously at plasma tables for a few weeks. When I came across GoTorch I thought I had found an entry level table that I could upgrade as I can afford. Ultimately I want to end up with a 5x10. I know GoTorch is a PlasmaCam product & that only after purchasing the table will they tell you what the options cost. I want to have at least some THC so I know that will cost at least 1k. The size of 2x2 will work for most of what I need it for right now (this projects largest pieces are 18 x 21 1/8). I know that others have said that to really make it a good table the total cost is about 7k. I would like to know how much it would cost to upgrade to 5ft gantry & also 10ft rails. Could anyone with a PlasmaCam check on those options? If I dont go this route I will probably keep saving up for a complete 5x10 table from a different company or build my own.

Also does this forum have an android app?

I can't help you with the gotorch. I looked at that as well. I am so glad I steered away from plasma cam. Personally, I don't like the secretive bs.....I see shady. Too many other players in the market to deal with their bs.

Have you looked at the Swifty by SwiftCut Automation? I actually have one for sale and I love it. It is everything you listed and their support is A+. The programs are as simple as it gets (Libellula/SwiftCut).

This company https://www.welderssupplyco.com/product ... ng-tables/ sells them in the US and Pete is the Swifty guru.

I'll make you a smokin' deal on mine. I just outgrew it.

PM sent.

Is it able that can be placed on a larger piece of material like it looks like the gotorch can. I'd like to be able to cut something larger if I need to. Also not needing to precut every piece would be nice too. If anyone else also has a table they are wanting to sell I may be interested.

PM sent back. No, you are not able to cut larger material like the gotorch but, I shot you a price that would get you into cnc for about 1/2 of the price of a fully outfitted gotorch without plasma. Thanks for the pm.

I'd like to be able to cut something larger if I need to.

If you have the room to allow for cutting larger sheets, just go with a 4x8 or 5x10 table. The cost is in the electronics, etc a larger table format is just a little extra steel.
There are lots of tables out there to compete with PlasmaCam. Do your research or regret your investment.
I have an LDR 4x8 with scribe and have not regretted my decision one bit.
