Steel Plate Lifting Clamps??

Post by Thumper » Sun Sep 21, 2014 12:55 am

Im looking for a diy design on building a set of lifting clamps for lifting the sheets up onto the table "Or" a reasonably priced set to purchase. Everything Ive found store bought has been stupid expensive

Vertical or horizontal lift? For vertical lifting, I got one of these, works great for up to 1/2". (that's as thick as I've tried to lift, and pretty much the max that will fit in it) Bought mine from Amazon, looks like they're still the best price now.

For horizontal lifting, the clamps I use look like this:

4 of them on chains, with two spreaders to keep them from sliding together. One pair of chains goes on each side of the plate, and it works perfectly.
